Our Secrets (Shhh!)

Our Secrets (Shhh!)

You’re probably wondering how every scoop of Clementine’s ice cream is so darned amazing. Well, here’s the thing: every day, we work hard to be kind to people, to animals, and to the earth. All of those good vibes get mixed up with our all-natural dairy base and served with a smile (and sometimes a little mischief). Turns out, it’s deliciously sweet stuff!

A little love goes a long way in today’s world. At Clementine’s Creamery, we’re all about creativity, compassion and community. We try to do our part by being mindful and intentional about what goes into our ice cream and how we create each tasty treat.

We serve up our ice cream with a big scoop of love—using biodegradable bowls, spoons, and napkins—from our hearts to yours. It’s what makes us different, and it’s what makes Clementine’s Naughty & Nice Creamery so good. It’s also the secret ingredient that makes Clementine’s the best ice cream in St. Louis!

SIZE MATTERS.

Momma always said that big things come in small packages, and she knew what she was talking about. Clementine’s is a MicroCreamery—in fact, we’re the only MicroCreamery in the state of Missouri.

That means we make our ice cream in small batches, and that we go the extra mile to make sure we keep you coming back for more.

Size does matter, and when it comes to ice cream, bigger isn’t better. We don’t use industrial machines to mass produce any of our ingredients. Instead, we churn our St. Louis ice cream one small batch at a time so that we can fold in each yummy cookie bit, each thick swirl of hot fudge, and every other little nugget of deliciousness into the same kind of homemade flavor that (you wish) Grandma used to make.

WE WOO OUR MOO.

Clementine’s cows are happy cows. Our milk comes directly from local dairy farmers, within just a few hours of St. Louis, who treat their cattle with the respect they deserve, including feeding them only the most natural and nutritious diets. They’re grass-fed and rBST- and hormone-free, and they have never been given corn, soy or any animal byproducts.

True fact: our cows listen to classical music while they are being milked. It soothes them, keeps them calm, and we think it makes the cream taste better!

Every lick of Clementine’s Naughty & Nice ice cream is filled with happiness, gratitude, and tasty sprinkles of kindness. It’s the kind of conscientious sustainability you expect, and we’re pretty sure our cows are happy about it, too.

WE DO IT WITH PARTNERS.

The more the merrier at Clementine’s Naughty & Nice Creamery! We collaborate with great local businesses to create flavors inspired by the best food and booze in The Lou!

We believe in supporting local businesses, because like us, each of them is run by real people who put passion and a lot of hard work into everything they do. Not only are these partnerships fulfilling for us, but they’re what our St. Louis community has been built on since it began. It’s one more way we’re putting the “ice” in “nice.”

WE DO IT BY HAND.

From salting our own caramel to mixing our own cake batter, every chunk and hunk inside Clementine’s Naughty & Nice ice cream is made in our own kitchen or comes from a local community partner. We spend hours mixing batters and stirring sauces until we’re sure we’ve come up with the most devilishly good recipes in the Midwest. We stir our cookies, cakes and sweet, crunchy, candied nuts into our all-natural ice cream, and the results are sinfully good!

WE DO IT AU NATURALE.

Clementine’s Naughty & Nice Creamery keeps it real. From thick yummy cream to salted crack caramel, we strive to use only all-natural ingredients whenever possible in everything we do. We know that nothing ruins a good cone like a bunch of artificial flavors, colors, emulsifiers, or stabilizers on your tongue, so every spoonful of Clementine’s is nothing but wholesome goodness.

Not only do we use pure ingredients; we also do it by the numbers. Our overrun, which is a fancy name for air that gets trapped ice cream, is less than 30%, which means you get more flavor in each bite. And, while most store-bought ice cream contains about 10% butterfat—the rich, milky, creamy stuff that makes ice cream so decadent—we churn up guiltless and boozy flavors with 16% to 18% of the good stuff.
